Lee Making Debut in Front of Home Crowd

Visit Phillies Nation for full gameday.

Colorado Rockies (59-48) at Philadelphia Phillies (60-45)
Aaron Cook (10-3, 3.88 ERA) vs. Cliff Lee (8-9, 3.02 ERA)

Cliff Lee will be making his first start in front of the Phillies' faithful. He has already earned support from the fans with a complete game in his last start. He has never faced any of the current Rockies hitters in his career, so the advantage is to him.

Lee will be opposed by the Rockies ace, Aaron Cook. Cook is a groundball pitcher, which will benefit him at Citizens Bank Park. He faced the Phillies in April and gave up three runs in six innings. Ryan Howard has Cook in his book. He is hitting .429 and has a home run against him.

Because it is a day game, and cooler, the ball probably will not fly out of the yard like it did last night. The Phillies will need to manufacture runs in a different way, and build consistency with the offense. A win today will win the series.
