Champion

There's a new champion we can all root for. Michael Phelps.

Phelps won gold medal number 8 last night. He passed Mark Spitz fore most gold medals by an individual in a single Olympics.

He is a perfect 8/8 in the Beijing Olympics. He has 14 gold medals for his Olympic career. He has the most gold medals of any Olympian, all time.

Phelps won his race last night with the help of his teammates in the 4 x 400m Men's medley relay. The race was wire to wire, but with the help of his teammates, Phelps earned his 8th gold medal. A perfect 8/8. Everything had to go perfect during the Olympics, and it did for Michael Phelps.

Phelps was the third swimmer in the relay for Team USA. He would swim the butterfly. The first two swimmers were neck and neck with the others. Australia and USA were very close.

Phelps came in to swim butterfly and gave Jason Lezak a comfortable lead by a few seconds. Lezak would finish the race freestyle to put the icing on the cake and give USA, but more importantly, Michael Phelps the win.

USA broke their own world record in the 4 x 400m Men's medley relay with a time of 3:29.34.

You can put that in the record books.
