Maddux to Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers made another move that could help them move in front of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the National League West.

The Dodgers acquired future Hall of Famer, 42 year old Greg Maddux from the San Diego Padres.

In 22 seasons, Maddux has a career record of 353-223 with an ERA of 3.14 and WHIP of 1.14. To go along with that, he has 3,353 career strikeouts.

Maddux has won 4 Cy Young Awards from 1992-1995. 1995 being the year he helped the Braves win the World Series.

He can also field his position extremely well. Maddux has won 17 Gold Glove Awards. He has the most Gold Gloves of any player, all time.

Although no Silver Sluggers show, Maddux does handle the bat fairly well.

Maddux was also acquired by the Dodgers in 2006. In 12 starts with the Dodgers, he went 6-3 with an ERA of 3.30.

The Phillies recently faced Maddux. Maddux did get the loss, but he pitched terrific giving up only 1 run in 7 innings of work. There is a chance the Phillies could be facing Maddux again later in the week when they face the Dodgers at home.

In return for Maddux, the Padres will get two minor league players to be named later. Either way, a good move for the Dodgers to help them make a playoff push.
