Phillies Take Series in 12-5 Win

The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Cincinnati Reds, 12-5 on Thursday to take the series two games to one.

The Phillies knocked Micah Owings around who lasted just 3 innings. He allowed 5 earned runs, including Greg Dobbs' solo home run. Chase Utley, Raul Ibanez, and Ryan Howard eventually homered in the game.

Joe Blanton gave up five earned runs; all in the fifth inning captivated by Brandon Phillips' 3 run home run. Blanton lasted five innings and struck out four. The bullpen was able to shut down the Reds for four innings.

Jimmy Rollins, who went 4-for-6, stole his 300th career base. Rollins is the fourth player in Phillies history to steal 300 bases, and the third to have at least 300 stolen bases and 300 doubles. He also got his 1,500th hit of his career in Thursday's game.

Utley, who was 3-for-4 with 4 RBI, was a triple shy of the cycle.

The Phillies will take their 6-1 road trip to New York to face the Yankees.
