Phils/Jays Rubbermatch Preview

Visit Phillies Nation for the full gameday.

The Philadelphia Phillies (38-34) will play the Toronto Blue Jays (41-35) this afternoon at Rogers Centre.

Jamie Moyer (5-6, 5.97 ERA) will start against Brian Tallet (5-4, 4.36 ERA).
The Phillies look to win their first series since the beginning of June when the took two out of three from the New York Mets. Hopefully they saved some runs from last night’s offensive outburst.

Jamie Moyer has been very inconsistent this year. In his last start against the Tampa Bay Rays, Moyer gave up only one run over six innings. Moyer pitched six innings against the Blue Jays last week. He allowed six earned runs on ten hits and two walks.

Tallet is coming off a six innings shutout against the Cincinnati Reds. Tallet has faced the Phillies as a reliever, but never as a starter.
