Phillies Sign Baez & Bozied

The “mystery reliever” has been revealed. The Phillies are aggressively going after Danys Baez, and have agreed to sign the right-hander.

The 32-year old had a 4.02 ERA in 71.2 innings with the Baltimore Orioles last year.

You're it! The Phillies also signed Tagg Bozied. Bozied spent last season with the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Triple-A club, where he batted .288 in 240 plate appearances. Bozied, 30, is a corner outfielder and first baseman.

Bozied was a big-time power prospect for the San Diego Padres. However, he tore a tendon in his knee while celebrating a walk-off home run in 2004.

In other news, the Chicago Cubs signed former Phillie Marlon Byrd. The deal is believed to be three years, $15 million. Yup, that much money for THAT Marlon Byrd.
