Pedro Feliz was placed on the 15 day disabled list. Feliz has been out of the starting lineup since July 24, due to lower back inflammation.
Mike Cervenak was recalled from the Phillies AAA minor league affiliate, the Iron Pigs. Cervenak made one big league plate appearance this year, the only of his career. With the Iron Pigs this year, the 31 year old is batting .320 with 7 home runs.
3rd base could be a platoon between Greg Dobbs and Eric Bruntlett. Charlie Manuel wants his players to preform, and give them playing time depending on their performance.
