Sweep

Home field advantage helps. The Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers must of switched roles. The Phillies got swept by the Dodgers last week in a 4 game series at Dodger Stadium, but this time the Phillies swept the Dodgers at Citizen's Bank Park.

The last time the Phillies swept the Dodgers in a 4 game series was in 1985 at Dodger Stadium.

Brett Myers shut down the Dodgers in 7 innings of work, earning the win.

Myers played Houdini all night long, escaping out of possible big innings for the Dodgers. Myers gave up 9 hits and walked 3. He also struck out 8.

The Dodgers had plenty of opportunities to score, from the first inning all the way until the 9th. Instead, they left 32 men on base and were shutout.

The Phillies runs came courtesy of Jimmy Rollins. The same Jimmy Rollins who only had 4 hits since calling Phillies fans front-runners over a week ago.

In the 2nd, Rollins hit a 2 run single to give the Phillies an early lead.

Rollins reached base all 4 times he was up. Rollins was a homerun shy of the cycle.

Jayson Werth had a huge hustle play in the 7th inning. On first, Werth went to steal second, but Pedro Feliz hit a Baltimore Chop. Werth rounded second and headed for home and scored.

Chad Billingsley also played Houdini. The Phillies left 22 men on base, but managed to score 5 runs.

The game had all the makings of being a high scoring game for both sides. The Phillies will take the win.
